Jonathon Dornbush is IGN's News Editor from IGN. Keep an eye on this page for that interview and gameplay of the new game in action later today, and stay tuned on IGN for more from PAX West 2018. We've got an interview with Vlambeer's Rami Ismail coming soon, who told us the studio was interested in making more small games like this after working on Nuclear Throne for so long. Vlambeer said they weren't even planning to show it at all, and spontaneously did so to celebrate the company's birthday. Today we start a true mission, to beat the throne in the amazing top down shooter OG roguelite Nuclear Throne This game is an inspiration for many other rog. The game in its current state offered high scores to chase and hinted at an unlock system for new power-ups and ships based on different enemy types, but given that there's currently no release cycle planned for it, plenty could change. Some of them behave differently, shooting out different types of projectiles, and as you can see in the images above, the screen can become jampacked with enemies, some who like to chase the player ship around and deadly energy beams. Shooting the first enemy spawns some green space goo that, when the player's ship moves far away enough from it, produces new enemies. To further complicate it, new enemies don't just continuously spawn. What’s in the box: Inside this big PC-game style box, you can find some excellent collectibles. The player can't aim their ship while shooting - the ship instead aims itself as you move it while not blasting, locking onto the nearest enemy. Nuclear Throne 49.99 Quantity Sold Out IMPORTANT NOTE: The remaining stock does not include a Steam Key. All the mutants truly believe the wormholes will take them there, but which hero will make it to the Nuclear Throne Contents 1 Characters table 1.1 Fish 1.2 Crystal 1.3 Eyes 1.4 Melting 1.5 Plant 1.6 Y.V. But there's a deceptively deep strategy to the demo we played at PAX. The portals are said to aid people on their journey to the Nuclear Throne, but no-one has ever returned from them. So if you have a bit of spare time and an interest in a variety of genres, I would highly recommend you spend the €6 necessary to get the second tier. They really are excellent games, and even if you end up disliking a couple of them, chances are good the rest will be more than enough to make up the difference.Īnd just for good measure, it's worth mentioning that the horror game SOMA now also has a significantly less terrifying mode available - just in case you feel like exploring the world and experiencing the story at your own pace.On the surface, Vlambeer's next game - which has no planned release date or launch platforms - looks like a standard bullet hell shoot'em up. I've only played the four games found in the second tier so I won't comment about the rest, but these four alone are so good that I would be willing to pay many times the current price just for them alone. Pay $15 (about €12.99) or more to also unlock: Pay more than the average of $6.65 (about €5.76) to also unlock: Rather than babble on, allow me to share with you the full list of games, as well as the pricing tier they appear in. As the name itself would imply, this bundle is filled to the brim with games that have achieved the truly impressive Overwhelmingly Positive rating on Steam, games like SOMA, Nuclear Throne or LISA. If you're looking for something to occupy your time before the big Halloween sales arrive, you might want to check out the newest Humble 'Overwhelmingly Positive 2' Bundle.
